In January 2024, IrisBG released an update that included the add-on PGSIP package to support our collaboration with Public Gardens as Sentinels Against Invasive Plants (PGSIP).
The Public Gardens as Sentinels Against Invasive Plants (PGSIP)* initiative was created in 2018 to standardize how gardens rank and report plants that have escaped from cultivation. With the PGSIP install package, you can easily export the invasive plant data you record in IrisBG to help PGSIP assess non-native plants that exhibit invasive tendencies. Please read the steps for installing the PGSIP add-on & uploading your data to the PGSIP portal below.
🌱 Please note that data from the report must be entered manually in the PGSIP portal.
Thank you for helping to fuel research on invasive plant species in your region!
*Currently, PGSIP only accepts data recorded about plants growing in North America public gardens.
**All four custom attributes must have values entered for an accession to be included in the report.
